Let there be sky lights in Bateau Bay
In many homes, open-plan living areas provide spaciousness and flow, but they don’t always get the light they need. This was the case for our client in Bateau Bay, whose dining area remained dim due to the placement of windows and doors focused on the kitchen and living room.
Bringing in Natural Light
To solve this, we installed a 1250mm x 500mm skylight, allowing natural light to bathe the dining space. This project required precise planning and execution, including:
- Reframing the roof structure to accommodate the skylight
- Moving existing ducted air conditioning to ensure airflow remained uninterrupted
- Creating a light shaft for a seamless transition between the ceiling and the skylight
- Gyprocking and finishing to blend the new feature seamlessly into the existing space
The result? A bright, airy dining area that enhances the entire open-plan space. The client was thrilled with the transformation, and it’s proof that strategic lighting solutions can make all the difference.
